FLORIAN ROSS

Most of the CDs I have written music for and/or played piano, organ or synthesizer on. Roughly 25 CDs since I released my first album "Seasons & Places" on Naxos-Jazz in 1998.

Since I've started to write for large ensembles, I have also worked as a guest conductor for various Big Bands across the globe.

Since my dad gave me my first Rollei 35 around 1980, I've been very interested in photography and visual arts. For about a decade I have done commissioned photo and design work.

A good portion of my daily work is in Jazz education. Besides teaching regularly at the Hochschule für Musik, Köln & Berlin Jazz Institute, I also offer workshops, clinics and private lessons in Jazz Composition and Jazz Piano.

Here you can find a selection of compositions and arrangements I've done over the last two decades. Mostly commissioned works for Jazz Orchestras.

In 2015 I started my own label. After 12 CDs for various labels, I decided to take charge of the last few steps towards publishing. Now I can offer a platform for my own releases and interesting new artists.
